What is ESG?

What are Environmental, Social & Governance criteria?

ESG criteria are a set of standards for a company’s operations that stakeholders can use to asses a company's compliance against.

  • Environmental criteria consider how a company performs as a steward of nature.
  • Social criteria examine how it manages relationships with employees, suppliers, customers, and the communities where it operates.
  • Governance deals with a company’s leadership, executive pay, audits, internal controls, and shareholder rights.

Common ways to audit and demonstrate ESG criteria compliance are policy and report claim reviews and adherence to international standards and frameworks such as ISO14001, the Integrated Reporting Framework, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the United Nations Global Compact or SMETA SEDEX.
Using international frameworks and standards gives stakeholders assurance and understanding of a company's standing and risks wherever they are in the world.

Meet the Director

"I love helping organisations reach their objectives through standards, whether that is clarity of their material risk and next steps, to winning that all important overseas contract; it is a privilege to be part of their continuous improvement journey and authentic due diligence to Boards and stakeholders"

Our Director has over two decades of international experience creating and auditing standards and systems in both the public and commercial sector.

She holds most industry codes for audit purposes, including those in high risk categories such as meteorological services, three waters, forestry, engineering, waste, health, aviation, ports and hazard facilities.
